Singapore will hold its 12th General Election on September 11, 2015.

新加坡将于 2015年 9月 11日举行第12届全国大选。

All 2.46 million Singaporeans eligible to vote can cast their ballot in this General Election.

所有246万有资格投票的新加坡人都能在此届大选投票。

This is also the first time in history that all eligible Singaporeans can cast their ballot.

这也是历史上第一次所有符合条件的新加坡人可以投票。

While the citizens of most countries are not too keen to cast their ballot, Singaporeans look forward to exercise their rights to vote.

虽然大多数国家的公民都不太热衷于投票,新加坡国民却期待行使他们的投票权。


For those who did not vote at the election, the Registration Officer will remove their name from the certified register of electors of the constituency where one belongs to.

对于那些没有在选举中投票的选民,登记官会把他们从其所属的选区的选民册中删除他们的名字。

This means that one can no longer vote at any subsequent presidential or parliamentary election, and are disqualified from being a candidate at any subsequent presidential or parliamentary election.

这意味着,此人在往后的总统或全国选举中不能投票,被取消投票资格。

One can submit an application to the Registration Officer with an explanation as to why one did not vote.

如果此人希望再被编入其所属的选区的选民册,就必须向登记官提出申请并给予合理解释。

One can do so by either go online or in person at the Elections Department or any community centre/club or download the form and submit it by post or fax to the Elections Department.

此人可以通过上网或亲临选举部门或社区中心/俱乐部或下载表格邮寄或传真至选举部门。

However, a fee of S$50 will be imposed if one do not have a valid and sufficient reason for not voting.

然而,如果没有对未参加投票持有效和充分的理由,当局将征收一笔50的费用。
