Stainless Steel Cutlery

Up in the sky - In the cabin

Found an impressive thing during a recent flight.

SilkAir actually provides stainless steel cutlery.

Once upon a time, stainless steel cutlery was a symbol of souvenirs that some flying passengers must collect after eating.

Since 9/11, major airlines have switched to plastic cutlery for safety reasons.

Although disposable plastic cutlery is relatively sanitary, it also creates a lot of waste that is difficult to recycle.

In the context of promoting environmental protection, it is good to see that airlines are using stainless steel cutlery that can be washed and reused.

P/S: In "吃盐比米多?" can see that only business class and above passengers can use stainless steel cutlery.

Loi Krathong

Thailand - Bangkok (Asiatique The Riverfront)

Loi Krathong is a Siamese Festival celebrated annually throughout Thailand.

Loi could be translated as "to float" and Krathong could be translated as "a basket".

In nearby countries and regions with significant southwestern Tai cultures Laos, Shan, Mon, Tanintharyi, Kelantan, Kedah and Xishuangbanna too celebrate the festival.

Thailand is an agriculture based country thus rivers are like their own blood veins.

To show respect to the river, basically the goddess of the river is called Pra Mae Khongkha, Thai people decided to make a Krathong to worship and ask for forgiveness.

The Thais now also see it as a time to wave goodbye to misfortune, wash away sins of the past year, and make wishes for the coming year.

Loi Krathong has attracted many foreigners and gradually evolved from a traditional festival to a carnival.

Loi Krathong is celebrated on the twelfth lunar month of the Thai calendar on the full moon day.

Usually Loi Krathong falls anywhere from mid-October to mid-November in the Gregorian calendar and lasts for few days.

Keep in mind that Loi Krathong date changes every year so it is better to check on that year before planning your trip.
