From today, bus passengers in Singapore who play loud music, put their feet on seats, or engage in other disruptive behaviour can be fined up to S$500.

从今天起，新加坡的公交车乘客如果播放大声音乐、把脚放在座位上或有其他扰乱秩序的行为，最高可被罚款500新币。

Other serious offences, such as obstructing or endangering at bus interchanges and terminals, or soiling any part of a bus or interchange, will carry a maximum fine of S$5000.

其他严重违规行为，例如在巴士转换站和终站造成阻碍或构成危险，或弄脏巴士或转换站的任何区域，最高可被处以5000新元的罚款。

The new laws are to make public bus commutes safer and more comfortable.

Effective immediately, Thailand has opened its automated immigration gates at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport for arriving travellers from 33 countries and territories.

You can use the e-gates only if you meet four strict criteria.

1. Not your first visit: The e-gates are reserved for returning visitors whose biometric data (fingerprints and facial scans) are already registered in the Thai immigration database.

2. Visa-exempt entry only: The e-gates are currently configured exclusively for travellers entering under the 30-day visa-exemption programme.

3. Pre-submitted TDAC: You must submit the mandatory, free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before your flight.

3. 预先提交 TDAC：您必须在乘机前在线提交免费的泰国数字入境卡（TDAC），这是强制性要求。

4. Same passport: If you are travelling on a brand-new passport with no previous Thai entry stamps, you will be directed to a staffed counter.

P/S:  First-time visitors must still use the manned counters.

在这个月里，华人不婚嫁、不祝寿、不乔迁、不办各种喜庆之事，以免招引游荡的孤魂野鬼进入门内。

In Buddhism, following Indian custom, the fifteenth day of the seventh month is observed as the Ullambana Festival.

在佛教中，循印度习俗，以七月十五日为盂兰盆节。

Buddhists hold an Ullambana Dharma Assembly to repay the kindness of parents and ancestors.

举行盂兰盆法会，以报答父母、祖先恩德。

Therefore, Buddhists widely regard this month as a time of auspiciousness and filial duty, known as the "Month of Filial Piety".

因此，此月又被佛教信仰者普遍视作吉祥或尽孝之月，称为“孝道月”。

In Vietnam, the seventh month of the lunar calendar is known as the "Month of Wandering Souls" (Tháng Cô hồn), which is similar to the "Ghost Month" observed by Chinese communities.

在越南，农历七月称为“孤魂月”（Tháng Cô hồn），类似华人的“鬼月”。

In Japan, the seventh month of the lunar calendar is known as "Fumizuki" (Month of Letters), a name associated with meanings such as displaying poetry or calligraphy and rice plants bearing ears of grain.
