Son-In-Law Egg

Thailand - Bangkok

Today is the eleventh day of the first lunar month, traditionally called "inviting son-in-law".

There is a traditional dish in Thailand called "son-in-law eggs" ไข่ลูกเขย (kai look keuy).

It is a delicious and unique dish that you must try at least once in your life!

Medium-boiled eggs (preferably duck eggs) are deep-fried in hot oil so they develop a browned, chewy skin that gives the eggs a distinct texture.

Then, a sweet-and-sour tamarind sauce drizzles over it and is topped with crispy fried shallots and garlic chips.

"Son-in-law eggs" is one of the most popular dishes for kids in Thailand.
