Wat Pho is a contraction of its older name Wat Photaram.

Its official name is Wat Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklararm Rajwaramahaviharn.

Wat Pho is better known to foreigners as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha.

The temple was also the earliest centre for public education in Thailand.

Wat Pho still houses a school of Thai medicine.

It is known as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage which is still taught and practiced at the temple.

卧佛寺是泰国最古老佛寺之一，总面积约八万平方米。

寺庙的前身是建于1788年的福哈伦寺（Wat Photaram），拉玛三世时重修。

它拥有超过一千尊佛像 ，以及泰国最大室内卧佛像。

卧佛身长46米，高15米，眼睛和足趾都镶嵌贝母。

该寺分为南北两个院落，北院是卧佛寺和藏经阁，南院是僧侣宿舍。

Strange Slope 怪坡

Strange Slope is located in Xiamen, at Wenping Road.

怪坡位于厦门文屏路。

Its width is around 10 metres, length around 50 metres.

其宽约10米，长约50米。

Things on Strange Slope will roll from its base up to the hill top.

No matter how you try, it will still be this way.

Related authorities surveyed the Strange Slope.

Surveyors tested every 5 metres for a total of 70 metres.

The results confirmed that the so-called "bottom of the slope" is actually higher than the "top of the hill" by 1.395 metres, at the slope of 2%.

Surveyors concluded: Strange Slope is caused by the visual illusion, whereby people use their surrounding as reference.

Scientific measurement data proves that Strange Slope is not so strange after all, it is only our eyes that play tricks on us.

Every fifteenth of the eighth lunar month is Mid-Autumn Festival.

There is a saying, Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional festival that comes from the legend of "Chang'E Flying To The Moon".

Chang'E is a Chinese mythological figure.

She was extraordinary beautiful, gentle and virtuous, and wife of Hou Yi.

In the mythology, Hou Yi shot down nine suns, the Queen Mother of the West thanked him by conferred him an immortality elixir.

Hou Yi got Chang'E to safe guard the elixir.

Hou Yi's disciple Peng Meng coveted the elixir, forced Chang'E to hand over the elixir, she reluctantly swallowed the elixir and flew to the sky.

After Chang'E flew to the moon, she lived in the Moon Palace and separated from her husband Hou Yi.

Chang'E flying to the Moon is one of China's ancient folklores.

Chinatown 牛车水

农历八月十五是中秋节。

有说中秋节这个中国传统节日是从《嫦娥奔月》这则民间传说而来。

嫦娥原称姮娥、常娥，是中国神话人物。

她美貌非凡、温柔贤慧，为后羿之妻。

神话中后羿射下九个太阳后，西王母赐其不老仙药。

后羿不舍得吃下，就交于嫦娥保管。

后羿门徒蓬蒙觊觎仙药，逼迫嫦娥交出仙药，嫦娥无奈情急之下吞下仙药，便向天上飞去。

嫦娥飞上月球后，便居住在月亮上面的广寒宫之中，从此与丈夫后羿天地相隔。

嫦娥奔月是中国古代民间传说之一。

Eid al-Adha 宰牲节

Eid al-Adha, Festival of the Sacrifice, also called the Sacrifice Feast or Bakr-Eid, is the second of two Muslim holidays celebrated worldwide each year.

Eid al-Adha is considered the holiest of the two.

It honors the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son, as an act of submission to Allah's command.

Allah then intervened, through his angel Jibra'il (Gabriel) and informed him that his sacrifice had already been accepted.

The meat from the sacrificed animal is divided into three parts.

The family retains one third of the share; another third is given to relatives, friends and neighbors; and the remaining third is given to the poor and needy.

In the Islamic calendar, Eid al-Adha falls on the tenth day of Dhū al-Ḥijjah and lasts for four days.

The word Eid appears once in Al-Ma'ida, the fifth surah of the Quran, with the meaning solemn festival.

Like Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha begins with a sunnah prayer of two rakats followed by khutbah (sermon).

Eid al-Adha celebrations start after the descent of the Hujjaj, the pilgrims performing the Hajj, from Mount Arafat, a hill east of Mecca.

Eid sacrifice may take place until sunset on the 13th day of Dhū al-Ḥijjah.

In Singapore, Brunei and Malaysia, Eid al-Adha is more commonly known as Hari Raya Haji.

宰牲节，牺牲的节日，也叫牺牲盛宴或 Bakr-Eid，是全球穆斯林每年共庆两大节日的第二个。

宰牲节是两个节日中被认为最神圣的。
